In 1989 the Channel Arts Association (Charity No. 900612) leased the former ship to shore radio station overlooking Ilfracombe, and the Ariel Studios was opened. It provides a unique resource for the Devon area, offering rehearsal space and equipment,  a digital recording studio with three 'live' rooms and space for  workshops. It has wheelchair access and kitchen facilities, great views to Wales, loads of parking and no neighbours.

In 2009 a CD was recorded of the memories of the available personnel who worked at the ship to shore radio station  which is now the Ariel Studios. This was supported by Devon Community Foundation and copies of the CD are available in the archive of Ilfracombe Museum who also have some of the origional equipment from the station.
